During the filming of "Wolves of the Mine Fields", in 1996, the necessity arose for close range footage of the animals, (virtually impossible in the wild). In response, the NPA, which has long assisted Afikim Productions in documenting Israel's landscapes and wildlife, attained a special permit and provided photographer Moshe Alpert, with 2, week-old, orphaned, wolf pups. On that day, 11/03/96, Moshe found himself being rapidly drawn into the world of wolves, spending the majority of his time with the pups, recording their development. They became the stars of the film. Lately, by increasing demand, Moshe has been appearing in front of various audiences, showing segments of film while recounting his experiences of life, in the company of these exceptional animals. A full length film is then shown, in which they are featured.
